About the place
The poet's birth house burned down in 1823 and could not be rebuilt. The town bought the building on the same site in 1908 and put a plaque on the facade in 1909. In 2010 the house was fully renovated by the town hall and the Arany János Cultural Association.
Inside are tools and household objects from the Salonta area, from the everyday life of ordinary families in the poet's time. The yard, with its sweep well and mulberry tree, is also used for literature lessons. The town hall's page says visits are by appointment only, through the phone number of the museum in the Ciunt Tower.
